Preparing for the magic

REGISTRATION

Getting ready for Camp Howe starts with CampDoc. You begin by creating an account and you will CampDoc where you will register your camper. During registration, you will see the most up-to-date availability for each session and program and receive immediate confirmation that you have reserved a space. If the program is full you may put your camper on a waitlist.

Once registered, CampDoc will guide you through a series of tabs containing the information and forms you will need to complete by June 1. Some forms can be completed directly online, while others can be downloaded, completed by your child's doctor, and uploaded back into CampDoc.

Once you have completed everything required of you, Camp Howe staff are alerted to review the information. We check that everything is complete and accurate and then sign off on your camper's paperwork. When everything is approved, your account will show 100% complete.

After that, you shouldn't need to make changes unless something changes for your camper. If they begin a new medication, have a change in their health, or there is new information that would help us better support them at camp, simply update CampDoc so we have the most current information.

ALL THE INFORMATION IN ONE PLACE

Once registration is taken care of, it's time to start preparing for camp! A little preparation before camp helps your camper arrive ready to settle in, make friends, and get on with the magic of Camp Howe.

We believe the cost of camp should not be the reason a child misses out on Camp Howe. Financial assistance is available to families who need help with tuition. Families can complete our Financial Aid Form to tell us a little about their circumstances and the assistance they are requesting. We do our best to work with families and make camp accessible whenever funding is available.

Our Code of Conduct outlines the expectations we have for everyone at Camp Howe. It focuses on respect, kindness, inclusion, safety, and being a positive member of our camp community. We ask families to review it with their camper before camp so everyone arrives understanding what we expect of one another.

We know nobody wants to search through an entire handbook while standing over an open duffel bag wondering what they've forgotten! While all of the packing information is included in the Family Handbook, we have also separated the Packing List into its own easy-to-use document. The list covers clothing, footwear, swim gear, toiletries, bedding, essential gear, optional items, and what not to bring to camp.

Our Family Handbook brings together everything you need to know before your camper arrives. It includes important dates, what camp life is like, daily routines, preparing for homesickness, check-in and check-out details, communication while your child is at camp, health and medical information, day camp details, policies, directions, and more. The handbook is also available in your CampDoc profile. We’ve included it here for easy access.

We strongly encourage families to read through the handbook with their camper, especially if this will be their first summer at Camp Howe. Knowing what to expect can make arriving at camp feel a lot easier.
