We do a lot with a little. Our Executive Director is the organization’s only full-time, year-round staff member overseeing all aspects of camp, supported by an incredible network of volunteers, board members and seasonal staff. Together, they make sure Camp Howe is safe, meets high standards, stays true to its mission and is ready each summer to welcome hundreds of young people. Every year, an amazing staff comes from across the country and around the world to bring the magic back to the woods of Goshen.

OUR BOARD
Camp Howe’s volunteer Board of Directors brings together people from across Massachusetts and beyond, with experience in education, business, healthcare, finance, law, nonprofits and youth development. Many are former campers, staff or camp parents, bringing both professional expertise and a personal connection to Howe.
Camp Howe’s Board of Directors helps guide the direction and future of camp. They work closely with our executive director to make sure we stay true to our mission, remain financially strong and continue to provide a safe, inclusive and affordable camp experience for generations to come.
Made up of people who care deeply about Camp Howe and the young people we serve, our board helps protect what makes Howe special while always looking for ways we can grow and do better.
OUR EXECUTIVE
Our Executive Director is the only full time staff of the organization. Originally from Australia, Terrie has spent more than 24 years at Camp Howe and has dedicated her career to camping and youth development. She has worked at camps in the United States and abroad, with experience across government-run camps, agency camps and private nonprofit organizations, giving her a broad perspective on the impact a quality camp experience can have on young people.
Terrie has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Camp Association, New England, and has a background in psychology and youth development. As Executive Director, she oversees all aspects of Camp Howe’s year-round operations and works closely with the Board, staff and volunteers to ensure Howe remains safe, inclusive, affordable and true to its mission.
After more than two decades at Howe, Terrie remains passionate about creating a place where young people can be themselves, discover what they are capable of and know that they belong.
OUR DIRECTOR
Nora has been part of Camp Howe for 20 summers, growing from camper to staff member and ultimately Camp Director. Having experienced Howe from so many different perspectives, she brings a deep understanding of camp, its traditions and, most importantly, the community that makes it special.
As Camp Director, Nora leads the day-to-day operation of our summer program, working closely with staff to create a safe, fun and inclusive experience for every camper. She is passionate about building a strong camp community, developing young staff and making sure every child has the opportunity to make friends, try new things and feel that they belong.
For Nora, Camp Howe has quite literally been a place to grow up and today she helps create that same experience for the next generation of Howe campers.
OUR SUMMER STAFF
Our staff are the heart of Camp Howe. Each summer, we bring together an amazing group of people from across the country and around the world who genuinely enjoy working with kids and believe in what we do.
We look for staff who are mature, responsible, hardworking and, most importantly, kind. They come from different countries, cultures, backgrounds and walks of life, and include teachers, youth workers, college students, graduates and people with years of camp experience. We believe our staff should reflect the diverse community we want Camp Howe to be. In 2026, more than 50% of our staff team was returning to Howe and another 10% were former CITs stepping onto staff for the first time; of those new to Camp Howe, the majority brought experience from other camps both in the US and abroad.
The staff are the people who teach the activities, eat meals with campers, help with homesickness, celebrate successes, solve problems, make kids laugh and create the everyday moments that make camp special. We can have a beautiful property and great programs, but it’s our staff who make Camp Howe feel like Camp Howe.
