Our code of conduct
CAMP HOWE CODE OF CONDUCT
Camp Howe is a community where everyone should feel welcome, respected, and safe. We expect campers to treat others with kindness, respect differences, and help make camp a positive place for everyone.
We want all campers and their families to review this Code of Conduct together before attending Camp Howe.
By coming to camp, campers agree to follow these expectations and families agree to support them.
Respect & Inclusion
-
Be kind and respectful to campers and staff.
-
Respect differences and allow others to be themselves.
-
Use respectful language. Hurtful, offensive, or hateful language is not acceptable.
-
Listen to others and respect personal space.
Bullying & Harassment
-
Bullying, harassment, intimidation, or intentionally targeting others is not acceptable.
-
If you experience or witness bullying or harassment, tell a staff member.
Safety
-
Follow staff directions and camp safety rules.
-
Stay with your group and within camp boundaries.
-
Do not enter another cabin without permission.
-
Make choices that keep you and others safe.
Mental Health & Self-Harm
-
Your mental health matters.
-
If you are struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or thinking about harming yourself, talk to a counselor or another trusted staff member.
-
If you are concerned about another camper or believe they may hurt themselves, tell a staff member right away.
-
Do not try to handle it alone.
Personal Conduct
-
Campers are expected to use appropriate language and behave respectfully.
-
Clothing should be suitable for camp activities and may not display hateful or inappropriate messages or references to drugs or alcohol.
Digital Conduct
-
Our expectations for kindness and respect continue outside of camp.
-
Do not use social media, messaging, or other digital platforms to bully, harass, threaten, or intimidate members of the Camp Howe community.
When Expectations Aren't Met
-
We know campers make mistakes, and whenever possible, we will work with them to learn and move forward.
-
Serious or repeated concerns may result in parent/guardian contact, loss of privileges, dismissal from camp without a refund, or not being invited to return.
Our goal is to keep Camp Howe safe, welcoming, and fun for everyone.
